Yoghurt is to breakfast as bacon is to...

You'd never guess it, especially if you follow the blog from now on, but I'm not a natural-born bacon lover. Neither am I likely to ever utter anything remotely close to "Glory to the bacon!" Be as it may, bacon is food that few would turn their heads away in disapproval to or decline to nothing but devour anything that has even a hint of bacon... or so I've come to believe.

But what's bacon for some, yoghurt is for me, especially at breakfast time.

Maybe because I originate from Bulgaria, homeland of yoghurt, but I'm a nazi when it comes to selecting yoghurt. So far, the closest I've come to enjoying yoghurt in Northern Europe is Tine's natural yoghurt. Norwegians know what I'm talking about. However, natural yoghurt is often seen as boring and thus substituted for the flavoured versions with an alarming percentage of sugar content and a totally ruined yoghurt experience. So, as an indulgence and for those of you who do not enjoy plain natural yoghurt, I'll share my recipe for a yoghurt breakfast that has all the goodies in it with zero of the added sugar.

Is that breakfast for champions or what?!

Care to share your version of garnished natural yoghurt?

  1. Sounds truly amazing.
I'm not a natural yoghurt person, i normally use the sweeter greek kind.
But my garnish would work on both i guess, just depends on the amount of sweet vs fresh you want.

    Greek yoghurt /Naturell yoghurt
    With some:
frozen rasberries warmed in a pot (so they get juicy, and with the sauce that comes from the water in the berries that melts) obviously you can use fresh berries aswell, but i like the warmness, and most I like the sauce!
nuts and/or grains (The nuts i chop into smaller pieces)
And a little bit honey to top it of (if the honey is not liquid enough, i also warm this a littlebit in a pot, it is supposed to be sticky)

    enjoy :)

    1. Next time you make it, I'll have to get a spoonful, or maybe just ask you to *smakke* and then eat the whole thing. ;)

I like your version a lot too. It sounds sweeter than the above mentioned, but that's definitely a bonus.

      Hugs!
